Post-Secondary Dormitory
Students face considerable challenges in successfully making the transition to university or college. For students to succeed, they must be experientially exposed to the teaching and learning styles, life, procedures, and practices of post-secondary education and living. To facilitate this adjustment, Pinehurst School offers the Senior Transition Programme, which provides graduating seniors with an opportunity to live in a university/college style housing dormitory, physically and psychologically independent from our main school residence. This programme promotes independence, responsibility and time management skills. Students find the experience at times challenging, but ultimately very rewarding. As astutely observed by a graduate, "living in this senior house has helped all of us to manage our time more effectively, and to develop into more independently responsible students."
